The love of reading is the most important educational goal we can set for our children. Studies show that children whose homes have more reading materials generally have higher reading proficiency. To help your child develop a love of reading and learning, quite simply...keep lots of books around! Have books in any place your child spends time - the bedroom, playroom, and the bathroom. Keep books in the diaper bag and in the car, so if you have to wait somewhere, your children can enjoy reading a book. The following chart shows the ages and stages of reading, and gives recommendations of top-selling Usborne books. Each link will take you to the online catalog, where you can scroll down the page and see other books in that series.
